What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind and is experienced daily by every human being; daydreaming, "losing" oneself in a book or a movie, driving home on autopilot are some examples of hypnotic states, or as neuroscience calls it, theta brain wave state.

In other words, hypnosis is far from a zombie-like condition seen in movies and TV shows.

Will I loose control or fall asleep?

No not at all. No one can be forced to do anything against their will and it is not a sleeping state either.

In hypnosis, you are aware of what is going on around you but you choose not to engage in it. You are in a state of semi-brain wave state with deep physical and mental relaxation, increased awareness and inner focus.

If something is alarming or contrary to your moral and personal beliefs under hypnosis, you will just reject it and come out of the hypnotic state.

Instead, through hypnotherapy, you actually regain control of your life as you liberate and transform what causes limitations in your life. You become more you and live more in line with your innermost wishes and dreams.

Can I be hypnotised?

Yes, everyone can be hypnotized but you have to want to.

For many, it is easy and happens immediately, while for others, some training may be needed.

There are also different levels of hypnosis ranging from light hypno trance to deep hypno trance. Because each person and situation is different, each session is different as well.


The only people we do not recommend hypnosis to are those who have a mental disability, have serious mental health problems or are strongly affected by drugs.

Will hypnotherapy work for me?

Hypnotherapy is a wonderful, powerful and very effective tool, and over again see profound changes in our clients. However, there are two main ingredients needed for it to work:

- The client wants to change and is thus ready to meet what is needed.
- The client has an open mind and heart. It does not mean believing in something that you have not yet experienced. It simply means coming to a session with an open mind to give it an honest try.

I want to change but don't know if I am ready?

This is an important question. Many times there is a fine line between not being ready to face ones problems and nervousness, thoughts or obstacles that are part of the process that can be meet in a session.

How many sessions do I need?

With dynamic emotional therapy, we usually recommend 2-4 sessions per issue for real and lifelong change.

Sometimes it can vary as we are all individuals with different accumulated experiences and are in different places in our lives.

Is hypnotherapy safe and/or can I get "stuck"?

Yes, it is very safe. And no, you can not get "stuck" in a hypnotic state.

The only people we do not recommend hypnosis to are those who have a mental disability, have severe mental health problems or are strongly affected by drugs.

What is hypnotherapy used for?

This list is very long because it is almost everything that affects your feelings, thoughts, behaviors etc in one way or another.

Everything from:

- The deepest of pains, addiction, trauma, etc.


- To have a fun curiosity about ones inner world, want to expand ones love, perception, awareness or experience previous life regression etc.

Can I trust you?

That you feel safe is more than important, it is essential. So it is important that you feel safe so that you can comfortably relax in the process and let what needs to come up.

I work with you, you and I, together as a team. I do not sdo anything that is not in line with your will and beliefs.

It is always my aspiration to be the best therapist I can be for you. The sessions are confidential, I only keep a record of and around what we have agreed on and I follow the Code of Ethics of the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH).

What is the difference between hypnsis and hypnotherapy?

This is a simple explanation because there are many directions in hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

In hypnosis, the client is guided into hypnotic state and the session then consists of the hypnotist giving positive suggestions for change to the client.

In hypnotherapy, the client is guided into the hypnotic state, and then the therapy session begins. The client is then active in the process and in communication with the hypnotherapist. Together, they work to find and release limitations and blockages that the client faces.

Again, there are also many different directions in hypnotherapy, so this is just a simple general explanation.

How does it feel to be in a hypnotic state?

There is no definite feeling of being in a hypnotic state and instead it varies from person to person. The hypnotis state is individual and it can vary between each session.

One way of describing it is as a state where you are in contact with the subconscious while you are aware of the outside, and in a way your consciousness actually becomes stronger.

Another and a more poetic explanation is that it is almost like dreaming awake.
